Bodywork Sessions

Three day intensive workshop on Bodywork
By Rupert Sieben and Brigitte Quadflieg
30th November to 2nd December 2012

Rupert and Brigitte, whose bodywork programmes till now have been a huge success will be back in India, soon. The three day intensive workshop which they will conduct in Mumbai from November 30th to December 2nd, is geared both, to psychotherapists wanting to expand their knowledge and skills as well as to lay people interested in self awareness through getting in touch with the wisdom of their bodies.

A little about the process:
The human body is home to all thoughts feelings and actions. Intuition always stems from the vibrations felt in the body. However we seem to have forgotten or ignored this in our emphasis on using the mind and concepts. Every emotion that is experienced is felt in some part of the body. Every emotion suppressed, is lodged in some parts of the body and each then becomes energy blocks. Real healing and transformation can happen when one works at the level of the body and releases the energy blocks.

Bodywork suggests that through awareness of the body we can gain access to the story of our lives and to our past traumas and issues. It helps to identify and resolve blocks which hinder us in life. A trained bodywork practitioner for example, can tell you much about your life and character simply by looking at the way you move or carry yourself. Bodywork helps us to re-align our bodies and our psyches in way that leads to greater awareness and fulfillment. It includes dance and movement, massage, breathwork and other techniques, all of which help to open up an entirely new range of experience in individuals.

Facilitators:

Rupert Sieben and Brigitte Quadflieg who will be conducting the sessions are both seasoned practitioners of bodywork from Germany. Their experience of over twenty years encompasses not only bodywork and talk therapy but transpersonal therapy and community building rituals. Students of Al Bauman in the U.S. and also of Michael Smith and Emily Derr, their work is based on the methods of Wilhelm Reich, a student and colleague of Sigmund Freud’s.
